The Bourne Academy, established in 2009, is a state funded secondary school with 1000 students aged 11 to 18 years. Formerly Kings High school, the Academy received a £10 million investment in 2012 which transformed the site into a state of the art 21st century secondary school.

The Bourne Academy is proud to announce the remarkable achievement of 73 KS3 students who have been selected to publish their creative writing pieces in an upcoming book by Young Writers. The book is being produced as a result of a creative writing competition organised by Young Writers, where students were tasked with crafting a 100-word mini story centred around the theme 'The Glitch.'

Year 9 Bourne Scholar students at The Bourne Academy have left their mark on the international stage by participating in the prestigious Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, the world's oldest and most esteemed writing competition. With a legacy spanning 140 years, the competition attracts entries from all 56 nations across the Commonwealth, showcasing the talent and creativity of young minds from around the globe.
